Fikom Untar student Yuning Novitria Sari proudly secured first place in the Senior Women’s Individual Poomsae category at the national-level taekwondo competition, Pancasila Cup 2025. This prestigious championship, organized by the Pancasila University Taekwondo Alumni Association, was held at GOR Ciracas, East Jakarta, from January 10–12.
The Pancasila Cup 2025 serves as a platform for aspiring Indonesian athletes preparing for the 2028 Paralympics. The Poomsae category, in which Yuning triumphed, involves a series of connected taekwondo attack techniques performed in a structured pattern. Her victory stands as a testament to the power of consistency and dedication in achieving success.
Initially, Yuning took up taekwondo as a casual hobby. However, over time, she grew increasingly comfortable and challenged by the sport. “I love the discipline that taekwondo instills. As time passed, I began participating in various competitions and developing myself both physically and mentally,” she shared.
Her desire for continuous growth serves as her main motivation in every competition she enters. “My motivation is to hone my skills to the highest level in taekwondo. I also want to inspire others through my achievements,” Yuning added.
To reach this level of success, she not only trains regularly but also maintains a healthy lifestyle and consistently evaluates her progress to stay focused and motivated. Previously, Yuning had participated in several competitions during high school, earning medals such as second place in Individual Poomsae at the 2022 Kapolri Cup and third place in Individual Poomsae at the 2023 Regional Student Sports Week (POPKAB).
With this victory, Yuning hopes to continue advancing to higher levels and inspiring others to embrace challenges in their lives. “Do what you fear, take the risk, or you’ll never go anywhere. Every small step holds great meaning in the journey toward our goals,” she stated. Yuning’s achievement at the Pancasila Cup 2025 proves that with determination and discipline, anyone can reach their dreams—not just in sports, but in all aspects of life. (MN/EF)
