The Student Representative Council of the Faculty of Communication Science, Tarumanagara University (DPM Fikom Untar), successfully conducted the 2025 Comparative Study program with the theme “Strengthening Foundations for Lasting Organizational Innovation” on Thursday, March 6, 2025, at the Indonesia University of Education (UPI). This program served as an important agenda for DPM Fikom Untar to expand organizational insights and strengthen relations with the Student Representative Council of the Communication Science Student Association (DPM HIMIKASI) UPI. The event received enthusiastic responses from all participants in attendance.
A university student organization comparative study is a visit to another university’s student organization to share experiences, insights, and best practices in organizational management and development. Through comparative studies, organization members can expand their networks, gain a better understanding of various leadership and organizational management models, and find inspiration for innovation in their programs. Additionally, this activity fosters inter-university collaboration, enhances communication skills, and strengthens relationships among organization members, ultimately contributing to the overall improvement of student organizations at their respective campuses.
This year, the program initiated by DPM Fikom Untar aimed to strengthen collaboration with DPM HIMIKASI UPI and expand insights into student institutional governance. Through this collaboration, both organizations were expected to learn from each other and apply new perspectives to enhance organizational effectiveness. Furthermore, the event provided a platform for building relationships and increasing professionalism in student leadership.
The comparative study event began with opening remarks from the Head of the 2025 Comparative Study Committee, Kathline Thedianto, followed by speeches from the President of DPM Fikom Untar, Olivia Laurensa, and the President of DPM HIMIKASI UPI, Febian Vieri Azkadeva. Speeches were also delivered by Fikom Untar Lecturer Representative Doddy Salman, S.H., M.Si., and Dr. Wina Nurhayati Praja, S.Pd., M.Pd., who serves as the UPI Student Affairs Advisor. The event continued with an introduction to the organizational structures of both institutions and group discussion sessions to delve deeper into the roles and responsibilities of each committee in carrying out legislative functions for students.
Through this comparative study, it is hoped that DPM Fikom Untar and DPM HIMIKASI UPI will continue to maintain strong relations and share insights to enhance their organizational performance. Both institutions are optimistic that this collaboration will open up further opportunities for partnerships and strengthen the capacity of student organizations in the future. (DPM/MN)
