The Public Relations Organization (PRO) of the Faculty of Communication Science, Tarumanagara University (Fikom Untar), successfully held an internal training session from the Press Conference Division with the theme “Mastering Creativity & Communication.” This event aimed to explore creativity in communication while providing a platform for PRO Fikom Untar members to refine their public speaking skills. The training was attended by members and the Core Executive Board (BPHI) of PRO Fikom Untar and took place on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at the Main Building of Tarumanagara University.
The event began with opening remarks by Kamila Fikrianti Putri, a representative of BPHI PRO Fikom Untar 2024/2025, who emphasized the importance of communication skills in the role of a Master of Ceremony (MC). The next speech was delivered by Audrey Regina Theodora Gultom, Head of the Press Conference Division of PRO Fikom Untar 2024/2025, who highlighted the MC’s role in creating an engaging and interactive event atmosphere. Following this, participants took part in the “MC Relay” mini-game, which tested their spontaneous speaking abilities and boosted their enthusiasm.
The first session was presented by Audrey Regina Gultom, who stressed the importance of voice modulation, body language, and compelling message delivery in becoming an MC. Next, Visca Alam Syahrir, Deputy Head of the Press Conference Division, explained techniques to enhance vocal, visual, and verbal skills, as well as body language, to ensure confident performances in front of an audience.
After the training sessions, participants engaged in an interactive “Kahoot” quiz to test their understanding. The event concluded with a creative bonding activity where attendees painted gypsum figurines. The best artworks were given special recognition as an appreciation for their creativity.
Through this training, participants were expected to gain new insights and improved communication skills. With effective practice, PRO Fikom Untar members can build their confidence and be better prepared to face various public speaking challenges. (PRO/MN)
