Jakarta, April 12, 2025 – The Master of Communication Science Program, Faculty of Communication, Universitas Tarumanagara, held an Academic Forum themed “The Utilization of Artificial Intelligence for the Development of the Communication Field” on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at the Main Building, 11th Floor, Fikom Untar. The event brought together academics to discuss the opportunities and challenges of artificial intelligence in communication, marketing, and information technology.
The academic forum featured two speakers: Prof. Dr. Haris Maupa, S.E., M.Si., who presented a topic titled “Marketing Strategies in the Era of Digitalization: A Conceptual Review of Artificial Intelligence,” and Prof. Lina, S.T., M.Kom., Ph.D., who discussed “The Challenges of Artificial Intelligence in Communication and Information Technology.” The discussion was moderated by Dr. Moehammad Gafar Yoedtadi, M.Si., a lecturer in the Master of Communication Science Program at Universitas Tarumanagara.
In their presentations, the speakers emphasized that the development of artificial intelligence has brought significant changes to communication practices, including digital marketing strategies, audience data analysis, and content management. AI is considered capable of improving communication effectiveness; however, it also presents challenges related to ethics, digital literacy, and human resource readiness.
This activity served as an academic platform for students and lecturers to broaden their understanding of the latest developments in communication technology, while also encouraging critical thinking about the implications of AI usage across various sectors of the communication industry. Participants’ enthusiasm was evident through interactive discussions and the exchange of ideas regarding research opportunities and future implementation of artificial intelligence.
Through the organization of this academic forum, the Master of Communication Science Program at Fikom Untar reaffirmed its commitment to providing scientific dialogue that remains relevant to current developments, while supporting the enhancement of academic and professional competencies in the field of communication.
