Fikom Untar Held Audience with Deputy Minister Giring Ganesha to Discuss Collaboration for Arunika Fest 2025

Jakarta, May 6, 2025 — The Faculty of Communication Science at Universitas Tarumanagara (Fikom Untar) held an official audience with the Deputy Minister of Culture of the Republic of Indonesia, H. Giring Ganesha Djumaryo, S.I.Kom., to discuss potential collaboration for the upcoming Arunika Fest 2025. The meeting was warm and constructive, reflecting a shared spirit of collaboration in promoting Indonesia’s cultural richness through student-driven creativity and innovation.

Arunika Fest, part of the annual Communication Week 2025 series, is scheduled to take place on June 5, 2025, at La Piazza, Gandaria City Mall. This cultural festival aims to showcase the diversity of Indonesian traditions through dynamic performances in traditional dance, regional culinary presentations, and interactive folk games, all delivered in an educational and engaging format.

As a public participation initiative and a means of cultural preservation, Arunika Fest will feature two main competitions: the Nusantara Traditional Creative Dance Competition and the Traditional Games Competition. These competitions are open to students and cultural communities interested in expressing local heritage through dance and traditional games, inspiring younger generations to appreciate ancestral culture in an enjoyable and prideful way.

The audience, held at the Ministry of Culture’s office, was led by the Head of the Communication Studies Program, Dr. Sinta Paramita, MA, accompanied by Program Secretary Dr. Wulan Purnama Sari, M.Si, and Course Coordinator of Communication Program Implementation, Septia Winduwati, M.Si. Also in attendance were lecturers Farid Rusdi, M.Si, and Lydia Irena, M.Si, along with student representatives involved in organizing the event.

Deputy Minister Giring expressed strong support for the Fikom Untar students’ initiative, emphasizing the importance of embedding the values of HEPI—Humanism, Entrepreneurship, Professionalism, and Integrity—into educational and entertaining programs. “We appreciate Fikom Untar’s commitment to preserving and promoting culture by organizing a culturally themed event. The Ministry of Culture is ready to support and attend the event, and we look forward to future collaboration with Untar,” said Giring.

Communication Week is an annual academic collaboration among fourth-semester undergraduate students of Communication Studies at Fikom Untar. Through the “Communication Program Implementation” course, students are challenged to design impactful strategic communication programs by integrating creativity, culture, and public engagement.

With a spirit of synergy between academia, the arts community, and government institutions, Arunika Fest 2025 is expected to become a lively, inspiring, and inclusive space for cultural expression—and a meaningful contribution by students toward the preservation of the nation’s heritage in the urban context (SW).
