Jakarta, 5 January 2026 — The Faculty of Communication Science, Universitas Tarumanagara (Fikom Untar), conducted an academic visit to Tri Ratna School as part of a Teacher Training Seminar themed “Intergenerational Communication: Preventing Bullying in Schools” on Monday (5/1). This activity reflects Fikom Untar’s commitment to supporting the improvement of educational quality and fostering a safe and inclusive school environment.
The seminar was delivered by the Academic Manager of Fikom Untar, Mrs. Septia Winduwati, S.Sos., M.Si., who highlighted the importance of understanding intergenerational communication between teachers and students. In her presentation, she emphasized that differences in characteristics, mindsets, and communication styles across generations must be well understood to ensure effective interactions within the school environment and to prevent bullying.
Through appropriate communication approaches, teachers are expected to build more empathetic relationships with students, create open spaces for dialogue, and cultivate a culture of mutual respect within the school community. Seminar participants were also encouraged to engage in discussions and share experiences related to communication challenges frequently encountered in daily teaching and learning activities.
The event was warmly welcomed by the teachers of Tri Ratna School, who participated enthusiastically throughout the seminar. It is hoped that this training will provide practical insights for educators in addressing the dynamics of intergenerational communication and serve as a concrete step toward preventing bullying in schools.
Fikom Untar hopes that this collaboration will continue and generate a positive impact on the field of education, while further strengthening the role of communication as a bridge between generations in creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment for the entire academic community.
