PKKMB for the Master of Communication Science Program Even Semester 2025/2026: The Beginning of a Humanistic and Professional Academic Journey

Jakarta, February 23, 2026 – The Master of Communication Science Program, Faculty of Communication (Fikom), Universitas Tarumanagara (Untar), held the Orientation Program for New Students (PKKMB) for the Even Semester of the 2025/2026 Academic Year on Monday, February 23, 2026. The event marked the gateway for new students to understand the academic system, campus culture, and the direction of scholarly development at the master’s level.

The event began with an opening address delivered by the Dean of Fikom Untar, Dr. Sinta Paramita, S.I.P., M.A., who also introduced the HEPI values (Humanism, Entrepreneurship, Professionalism, and Integrity) as the fundamental principles guiding academic and professional life within the campus environment.

During the academic briefing session, students received a comprehensive overview of the Master of Communication Science curriculum, which is designed to address contemporary communication challenges. Students were also introduced to academic support systems and administrative procedures, including the use of the university’s digital platforms, study plan registration mechanisms, and regulations concerning the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and the Diploma Supplement (SKPI). This session aimed to ensure that students understand not only the academic requirements but also the development of professional competencies and achievement records throughout their studies.

The Head of the Master of Communication Science Program, Dr. Moehammad Gafar Yoedtadi, M.Si., emphasized the importance of academic commitment and integrity from the very beginning of their studies.

“A master’s program is not merely about continuing one’s education, but about developing depth of thought, analytical sharpness, and making meaningful contributions to society. I hope that students of the Master of Communication Science at Untar will become strategic communicators who are adaptive to digital developments while upholding humanistic values and academic integrity.”

He also added that master’s students are expected to actively engage in discussions, be productive in research, and maintain an enjoyable learning process throughout their studies.

The PKKMB was conducted interactively through a new student introduction session and a question-and-answer segment, providing opportunities for students to explore various aspects of the academic system and campus life. The event concluded with a group photo session, symbolizing the beginning of a new academic journey.

Through the organization of this PKKMB, the Master of Communication Science Program at Untar reaffirmed its commitment to building an excellent and competitive academic environment while producing graduates who are humanistic, professional, entrepreneurial, and possess strong integrity. (LI)
