Jakarta, December 21, 2025 — Desmond Terrance Lee, a 2023 student of Fikom Untar, won a Silver Medal at the KONI CUP SERIES 6 (National Indonesia Taekwondo Championship 2025) in the Senior Men’s Kyorugi U-74 Kg category at GOR POPKI Cibubur.
The competition was held from December 18 to 21, 2025, and involved thousands of athletes from various provinces in Indonesia. Before joining this championship, Desmond had failed in two tournaments due to a left hamstring injury that forced him to stop training for a year.
In addition, Desmond had been away from Taekwondo for nearly ten years. However, two months before the competition, he returned to training consistently despite his busy schedule. He stayed committed to pursuing his dream of winning a gold medal.
“I was aiming for the gold medal, even though I had limitations due to previous injuries in my hamstring and ankle,” said Desmond.
He also encouraged Fikomers to never give up on their dreams. No matter how difficult the obstacles are, there will always be a solution as long as we keep trying.
Fikom Untar is proud of Desmond’s achievement. His accomplishment is expected to inspire other Fikom Untar students to continue striving, creating, and pursuing their dreams. (KG/LI)
