Thailand, August 8, 2026 – A team of students from the Faculty of Communication Sciences, Universitas Tarumanagara (Fikom Untar), achieved an international accomplishment by winning a Silver Medal in an international essay competition organized by the International Student Community. The competition was held in Bangkok, Thailand, on August 8, 2026, and brought together participants from 10 countries.
Fikom Untar was represented by three students: Claribel Halim, Tracy Zagitania, and Trisna Prasetya Hadinata. Through this competition, they had the opportunity to present their ideas and perspectives as Indonesian students alongside participants from various countries.
During the preparation process, the team received guidance from the Head of the Undergraduate Communication Studies Program at Universitas Tarumanagara, Dr. Wulan Purnama Sari, S.I.Kom., M.Si. Under her mentorship, the team developed and refined their idea, which was later presented in the competition and recognized as one of the best entries in the Tourism and Culture subtheme category.
The International Student Competition (ISC) 2026 is an annual international essay competition that serves as a platform for students to develop and present their innovations and creativity across various fields of study. The competition provides opportunities for young people to exchange ideas, broaden their perspectives, and gain valuable experience in an international academic and competitive environment.
The Silver Medal earned by the Fikom Untar team in Thailand reflects the students’ contribution to bringing the name of Fikom Untar to the international stage.
