Jakarta, October 22, 2026 – The Public Relations Organization (PRO) of the Faculty of Communication Sciences at Tarumanagara University (Fikom Untar) held Media Goes To Campus 2026 on Thursday (October 22), under the theme “IMPACT: Meaningful Communication and Creative Transformation.” The event featured Bernadheta Ginting, S.I.Kom., M.Si., Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Okezone.com, with Sarah Ursula serving as the moderator. Together, they discussed the transformation of media in the digital era and the importance of impactful communication.
The event began at 12:30 p.m. Western Indonesia Time (WIB) with participant re-registration, followed by an opening session hosted by MCs Hayden and Jessy, the singing of “Indonesia Raya” and the Tarumanagara March, and a prayer. The event continued with remarks from Derbie Kho, Chair of the Organizing Committee for Media Goes To Campus 2026, and Sisca Aulia, S.I.Kom., M.Si., Manager of Student Affairs, Alumni, and Public Relations. The opening ceremony was then marked by a symbolic inauguration.
With 12 years of experience in journalism, Bernadheta explained that people’s habits in seeking information have changed significantly. Social media has become one of the primary sources of news. However, conventional media remains essential for verifying information and providing more in-depth explanations.

These changes in audience behavior have encouraged media organizations to adapt to various digital platforms. Okezone, which initially focused on its news portal, has expanded its content ecosystem across multiple platforms through articles, videos, podcasts, and live broadcasts. This approach allows the media outlet to remain relevant to audience needs while fostering interaction and closer connections with the public.
Bernadheta emphasized that the success of content should not be measured solely by the number of views or level of engagement, but also by the impact it creates for society. She stated, “So, we do not evaluate every news story based on views and engagement alone. Instead, we want to look at its impact.” According to her, media organizations must consider the benefits of the information they deliver and their responsibility in reporting, rather than simply pursuing popularity.
Following the presentation and question-and-answer session, the event continued with a plaque presentation, a group photo session, games, door prize announcements, and a dance performance by Fikom students. Through this event, participants were expected to gain a better understanding of the importance of creative transformation and meaningful communication in the digital era.
Through Media Goes To Campus 2026, PRO Fikom Untar reaffirmed the spirit of IMPACT, emphasizing that effective communication is not merely about capturing attention, but also about delivering high-quality, responsible information that generates a positive and sustainable impact. (LA)
