Jakarta, June 1, 2025<\/strong> \u2013 EduAksi 2025, an innovative event integrating education and concrete action to promote mindful, creative, and sustainable living, was successfully held on June 1, 2025, at Taman Ismail Marzuki, Jakarta. The event drew enthusiastic public participation, provided new insights, and facilitated practical steps toward more responsible consumption.<\/p>\n

The event opened with an educational talk show themed \u201cCheap but Harmful: The Reality of Fast Fashion,\u201d featuring fashion expert Dino Augusto. This session encouraged participants to delve deeper into the environmental and ethical impacts of fast fashion and engage directly with the speaker. Dino Augusto emphasized that one of the most overlooked consequences of fast fashion is waste. He expressed hope that the future of the fashion industry will be shaped by responsible young entrepreneurs who focus on local products.<\/p>\n

Participants were then invited to a creative workshop where they transformed used clothing into functional and stylish tote bags. This hands-on activity deepened their understanding of how to repurpose still-usable items to avoid waste and foster creativity in supporting a sustainable lifestyle.<\/p>\n

Following the workshop, participants took part in a \u201cswap-and-choose\u201d session. This unique concept offered a relaxed space for social interaction through item exchanges, extending the lifecycle of clothing, and fostering collective awareness about the environmental impact of fast fashion consumption. This session served as a memorable and warm conclusion to the event. Attendees not only enjoyed a variety of engaging activities but also gained new knowledge and skills, and experienced a community-driven space open to people of all backgrounds.<\/p>\n

Keira Djauwvanka Kurniawan, Chairperson of EduAksi 2025, shared “The enthusiasm of EduAksi 2025 participants was clearly visible, fueled by the informative content shared through our social media platforms. Despite the challenges we faced during the organizing process, we were able to execute the event successfully thanks to a unified vision and mission among the committee. Through this synergy, we hope the positive values of EduAksi 2025 will spread more widely and inspire many others to take action.”<\/em><\/p>\n

Mona, the event\u2019s moderator, expressed her hope that this initiative would become a strategic starting point for similar future actions, considering the urgency of the fast fashion issue in relation to planetary sustainability. The event made a significant contribution to raising participants’ awareness of fast fashion\u2019s environmental impact. It is hoped that attendees will become more conscious consumers who consider sustainability in every purchasing decision\u2014preserving style while demonstrating environmental responsibility.<\/p>\n

Dino Augusto concluded his session with a powerful message: \u201cKnowledge will never go to waste. Y\u2019all have done an excellent job. I especially appreciate the segment on SDGs related to responsible consumption and production. Thank you.<\/em>\u201d His statement underscored the importance of knowledge and appreciation for discussions on SDGs, particularly in relation to responsible consumption and production.<\/p>\n
