New students of Fikom Untar participated in the second day of the 2024 new student welcoming (PMB). They joined thousands of new students from other faculties at the Tarumanagara Arena, Thursday (15/8/2024). PMB Untar lasted for three days and invited several speakers who provided briefings to strengthen national defense and love for the homeland for new Untar students.
Dean of Fikom Riris Loisa and Head of the Communication Science Study Program (Kaprodi) Sinta Paramita also attended the event. Also present were Untar Chancellor Agustinus Purna Irawan and other staff. The PMB event was divided into two major activities, namely at the university level where students received briefings on campus life and love for the country including aspects of the SDGs. While at the faculty level, students were introduced to the fields of science that they would study including the lecturers and education staff.
Meanwhile, PMB at Fikom Untar was held for two days on August 14 and 16, 2024 with its own excitement and excitement. On the first day, there were various socializations about campus life including academic and non-academic activities, HEPI, SKPI values, references and journals. Furthermore, the committee also prepared various games and other activities such as campus tours so that new students could adapt more easily on campus.
On August 16, 2024, the first session began with a socialization about Ethics delivered by Fikom Untar Lecturer Septia Winduwati. Then the Fikom Untar PMB committee invited practitioners who were also alumni to share their experiences and insights. They are those who have worked in their respective professions in their fields of interest. To explain about the world of public relations, the speakers who attended were content creator Edsa Estella and Fikom Untar Lecturer Lusia Savitri Setyo Utami.
Edsa said that, “Public relations are found in many aspects of our lives. Focusing on MPR or Marketing Public Relations, this is the field I work in as a content creator. Campaign activities that I initially thought were ordinary marketing, turned out to be part of public relations.”
In addition to Edsa, PMB Fikom Untar also presented Fikom Untar alumnus Yuilyana Wen who is a Digital Media Producer at Kompas TV and Fikom Untar Lecturer Farid Rusdi to share about journalism interests. While in the advertising field, there is Fikom Untar alumnus Tiyo Sajdahfath who works as a Video Editor Content Programming Vision+ MNC Group and Fikom Untar Lecturer Nigar Pandrianto who explained the ins and outs of advertising interests on campus.
Furthermore, these new students from the 2024 class also received various information about student organizations at Fikom Untar such as BEM and DPM, as well as UKMF including Creadzy, Pro, iFocus, TV Fikom, Oranye. Ended with group drama performances, door prizes, and solo performances by Fikom Untar students. Through a series of PMB activities, it is hoped that all new students can more easily adapt to the campus environment and study optimally. (YS/LI)
