Transition Towards LAMSPAK Accreditation, Fikom Explores Together

The Untar Communication Science Study Program has begun to enter the reaccreditation monitoring period. Coupled with the good news regarding the establishment of the Master of Communication Science which has been approved by the Directorate General of Higher Education. This news is accompanied by new responsibilities that need to be realized properly by Fikom Untar.

Unlike before, now reaccreditation will be carried out by the Independent Accreditation Institution for Social, Politics, Administration and Communication (LAMSPAK), so it is necessary to adapt and disseminate related information for Fikom lecturers and employees. Thursday, October 10, 2024, Fikom invited Dr. Muhamad Sulhan, S.I.P., M.Sc. to share material related to the transition from the previous accreditation system to LAMSPAK accreditation.

“The key to the transition from BAN-PT accreditation to LAMSPAK is the National Standards of the Directorate General of Higher Education. In my material going forward, you will continue to hear about the National Standards of the Directorate General of Higher Education,” said Sulhan.

National Standards for Higher Education (SN Dikti) include national standards for education, research, and PKM (tridharma of higher education) which cannot be separated as a basis for higher education in implementing the tridharma. The implementation of this tridharma is adjusted to the mission of the higher education institution through determining the composition of the weight of the implementation of each dharma at the level of higher education, study programs, and individual lecturers.

National education standards include standards for educational outputs or graduate competencies, standards for educational processes (learning, assessment, management), and standards for educational inputs (content, lecturers and education personnel, facilities and infrastructure, financing). Likewise with national standards for research and PKM which consist of standards for outputs, processes, and inputs.

Quality assurance of higher education is carried out through the determination, implementation, evaluation, control, and improvement (P-P-E-P-P) of higher education standards. Higher education standards as referred to in Permendikbudristek No. 53 of 2023 Articles 2 and 64. Higher education standards set by universities are operational elaborations and exceedances of SN Dikti according to the level of quality and breadth of substance set.

Sulhan said that, “The Higher Education Quality Assurance System (SPM Dikti) covers academic fields related to the tridharma, as well as non-academic fields, namely organization, finance, student affairs, personnel, and infrastructure. SPM Dikti is carried out with the principle of triangulation, namely exploring the truth of information through the use of various data sources and complementary perspectives.”

At the end of the activity, Sulhan hoped that Fikom Untar could prepare itself for the next reaccreditation process, and be successful for every step that will be taken in the future. (LI)
