Untar’s Faculty of Communication Sciences held a Digital Campaign and Storytelling Workshop at Kristoforus 1 High School

Jakarta, April 23, 2026 – A Community Service Program titled “Digital Campaign, Storytelling, and the Use of Artificial Intelligence in Content Creation” was successfully conducted at St. Kristoforus 1 High School, West Jakarta. The program aimed to enhance students understanding and skills in designing digital campaigns and producing creative content relevant to today’s technological landscape.

During the session, participants were introduced to the fundamentals of digital campaigns as a form of strategic communication that leverages digital platforms to increase awareness, shape perceptions, and encourage audience action. Students also gained insights into the importance of content creation in supporting the success of digital campaigns, particularly in building engagement and a positive image.

One of the lecturers, Lydia Irena, emphasized the significance of content development in digital communication.

“Well-crafted content plays a crucial role in how messages are delivered, how audiences engage, and how positive perceptions toward a brand or institution are formed,” she stated.

The next session was delivered by the Secretary of the Communication Studies Program at Faculty of Communication Sciences of Tarumanagara University, Septia Winduwati, S.Sos., M.Si., who emphasized the use of storytelling techniques in content creation. This approach is considered effective in producing content that is more authentic, emotional, and relatable to audiences. Students were encouraged to develop stories that are not only informative but also capable of portraying real experiences and personal journeys, thereby increasing the overall appeal of their content.

In addition, participants gained insights into the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the content creation process. This session was presented by the Head of the Undergraduate Communication Studies Program at Faculty of Communication Sciences of Tarumanagara University, Dr. Wulan Purnama Sari, S.I.Kom., M.Si. AI was introduced as a supporting tool that can assist in brainstorming ideas, drafting content, creating visual designs, and editing. However, it was emphasized that creativity, judgment, and responsibility remain in the hands of the user.

As part of the activity, students participated in a workshop session where they were divided into several groups to produce short video content (Reels/TikTok) with a duration of 30–60 seconds. The content was required to incorporate storytelling elements and utilize AI-based tools, with the objective of creatively promoting St. Kristoforus 1 High School.

Through this activity, it is expected that students will gain a deeper understanding of the importance of strategic digital communication and develop fundamental skills in creating content that is not only creative but also meaningful and responsible. This activity serves as a tangible contribution in preparing the younger generation to be adaptive to the rapid development of technology and the digital creative industry. (FD/LI)
