Jakarta – A student of the Faculty of Communication at Universitas Tarumanagara (Fikom Untar), Jeremiah Bentley Gunawan from the Class of 2025, has achieved an outstanding accomplishment by winning 1st Place in the Male Gi / White Belt / Adult / -94.3 kg (Heavy) category at Copa Da Indonesia 3 (Jiujitsu Championship). This achievement reflects his dedication and consistency in training while bringing pride to Universitas Tarumanagara in the field of sports.
Jeremiah shared that his motivation for participating in Copa Da Indonesia 3 was to evaluate the progress he had made through his training. He also wanted to gain more competitive experience by facing athletes from different cities and countries.
“I wanted to measure the results of the training I have been doing. As a university student, I also wanted to step out of my comfort zone and gain experience competing against athletes from different cities and countries. In addition, I wanted to strengthen my competitive mindset, gain more match experience, and learn from every competition, whether I won or lost,” he said.
According to Jeremiah, one of the most memorable aspects of the championship was the opportunity to meet and compete against athletes with diverse fighting styles. He believes the experience provided valuable lessons not only through competing but also by observing other matches throughout the tournament. The spirited and sportsmanlike atmosphere of the competition also left a lasting impression on him. This experience has further motivated him to continue training and improving his skills to achieve even greater success in the future.
Jeremiah also encouraged fellow students to remain persistent and never give up in pursuing their goals.
“Never give up on striving for your goals. Stay consistent, trust the process, and never forget to pray in every step you take. Sincere effort combined with prayer will never betray the results,” he advised.
Fikom Untar remains committed to supporting its students in developing their potential, embracing new challenges, and bringing pride to the Faculty of Communication and Universitas Tarumanagara through both academic and non-academic achievements. (KG)
