Sharing Joy, Strengthening the Sense of Family Among Fikom Untar Lecturers and Staff

Garut, 3 July 2026 – The Faculty of Communication of Universitas Tarumanagara (Fikom Untar) organized a three-day outing and team-building program for its lecturers and administrative staff from 3 to 5 July 2026 in Garut Regency, West Java. The activity was attended by lecturers and staff members as part of the faculty’s initiative to strengthen relationships beyond the workplace.

The outing served not only as an opportunity for participants to take a break from their daily responsibilities but also as a meaningful occasion to foster communication, collaboration, and a stronger sense of togetherness. Throughout their stay in Garut, participants explored various natural and cultural attractions that showcase the region’s unique charm.

Garut, one of West Java’s leading tourist destinations, is renowned for its breathtaking landscapes, rich cultural heritage, and distinctive culinary experiences. Participants enjoyed the beauty of Mount Cikuray, Mount Papandayan, and Mount Guntur, visited the historic Cangkuang Temple, Situ Bagendit Lake, and the Kamojang Crater, while also experiencing the renowned flavors of Sundanese cuisine. These destinations enriched the overall experience of the outing and team-building program.

In addition to sightseeing, participants took part in a series of group activities, including team games, informal gatherings, light discussions, and reflection sessions. Conducted in a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere, these activities encouraged participants to get to know one another better, strengthen interpersonal relationships, and build more harmonious communication among lecturers and staff.

Dean of Fikom Untar, Dr. Sinta Paramita, S.I.P., M.A., emphasized that togetherness is one of the essential foundations for cultivating a positive work culture. She expressed her hope that the strong synergy among all faculty members would continue to support improvements in academic services, education, research, and community engagement.

The outing and team-building program also served as an opportunity to reinforce the values of unity and kinship that have long been part of Fikom Untar’s organizational culture. Through closer interactions outside the campus environment, participants were expected to develop stronger professional relationships, foster mutual support, and enhance their readiness to face future challenges together.

By organizing this program, Fikom Untar hopes that the spirit of togetherness, solidarity, and collaboration developed throughout the journey will continue to inspire the implementation of the university’s Tri Dharma—education, research, and community service. The strengthened relationships established during the program are expected to become a solid foundation for creating a healthy, productive work environment that is committed to providing the highest quality service to the entire academic community.
