Jakarta, August 1, 2026 — Kayla Giovanna, a 2025 cohort student of the Faculty of Communication Sciences (FIKOM) at Universitas Tarumanagara (Untar), is one of the authors featured in Jejak Kisah Mencintai Indonesia, a short-story collection published by Grandia Publisher.
The book is a collection of short stories that presents young people’s perspectives on love for Indonesia through everyday actions, social awareness, creativity, and meaningful contributions. Kayla participated in a short-story writing competition themed “Ways to Love Indonesia,” where she expressed her views on the importance of caring, creativity, and the courage to take action.
Kayla’s work was subsequently selected for inclusion in the book, marking an important experience in her creative journey.
“Writing is not merely about putting words together, but also a way to observe our surroundings, understand different perspectives, and convey messages that can inspire readers,” said Kayla.
The publication of this book highlights the role of young people in creating positive narratives about Indonesia. Caring for the environment, appreciating cultural diversity, supporting local products, preserving Indonesian stories, and having the courage to share positive ideas are examples of simple contributions that can bring about meaningful change.
As a Fikom Untar student, Kayla’s achievement also reflects the importance of communication skills in conveying ideas and building social awareness. Her participation is expected to inspire other students to develop their creativity and produce meaningful works beyond the classroom.
