Jakarta, October 15, 2026 – The Faculty of Communication Sciences at Universitas Tarumanagara (Fikom Untar) held the third session of Pekan Praktisi 2026, bringing together experienced industry professionals and academics to equip students with the knowledge and skills needed to enter the professional world. The session focused on strengthening students’ competencies, enhancing career readiness, and encouraging Communication Science students to face professional challenges with confidence.
The third session featured three distinguished speakers: Yahya Glory Theo Ambarita, Brand Marketing Assistant Manager at Erajaya, Dr. Tria Patrianti, S.Sos., M.I.Kom., Head of the Master’s Program in Communication Science at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Muhammadiyah Jakarta (UMJ), and Fiola Teguh, S.I.Kom., Brand Partnership & Community at Mandaya Royal Hospital Puri. Drawing from their respective experiences and perspectives, the speakers shared insights into workplace dynamics and the essential preparations students need to make before entering the professional world.
One of the key messages highlighted during the session was that failure is an opportunity for growth. Throughout their career journeys, students need to understand that failure is not the end but rather an opportunity to learn, reflect, and improve. Maintaining an open mindset and having the willingness to keep trying are essential qualities for navigating challenges and competition in the workplace.

The speakers also encouraged students to understand what it takes to prepare for a professional career, from developing relevant competencies and adaptability to building the confidence needed to overcome workplace challenges. Practical experience and an understanding of industry expectations are important foundations for strengthening students’ capabilities and preparing them for future career opportunities.
Another important takeaway was the importance of having the courage to pursue opportunities without feeling inferior or doubting one’s abilities, including when applying for jobs. As Communication Science students, Fikom Untar students possess knowledge and skills that can be applied across various industries. Therefore, they were encouraged to recognize their potential, confidently demonstrate their abilities, and avoid limiting their opportunities due to self-doubt.
Through the third session of Pekan Praktisi 2026, Fikom Untar hopes to provide students with a clearer understanding of the professional world while motivating them to continuously develop their competencies and prepare for their future careers. The session also served as a valuable opportunity for students to learn directly from the experiences of industry practitioners and academics, empowering them to approach the professional world with greater preparedness, confidence, and courage to seize new opportunities.
