Jakarta, June 5, 2026 — Amid the rapid flow of digital information and the changing patterns of media consumption, Indonesian culture faces the challenge of remaining relevant, recognized, and understood by today’s generation. Cultural preservation is no longer achieved solely through the transmission of values but also requires creative communication strategies to reach wider audiences. In response to this challenge, the Faculty of Communication Sciences of Tarumanagara University (Fikom Untar) successfully organized Kreasa Fest (Collaboration, Creation, Emotion, Aspiration) as part of the Communication Week 2026 series. Held at Graha Swara, Campus 1 of Tarumanagara University, Jakarta, the event carried the theme “Budaya Menginspirasi, Generasi Beraksi” and served as a platform for students to develop creativity, collaboration, and strategic communication skills in addressing cultural challenges in the digital era.

Kreasa Fest featured a national-level communication competition consisting of PRASASTI in the field of Public Relations, LENTERA in Advertising, and AKSARA in Journalism. Through these competitions, participants were encouraged to generate communication ideas and solutions that creatively, relevantly, and effectively address cultural issues while creating a positive impact on society. In addition to the competitions, the event also included talk show sessions featuring prominent professionals from Indonesia’s creative and communication industries.
Several distinguished figures from Indonesia’s creative and communication sectors participated as talk show speakers, including Janoe Arijanto, Former CEO of Dentsu One Indonesia and Chairman of P3I for the 2018–2025 period; Dimas Djayadiningrat, film and commercial director; Alissya Amri, Executive Board Member of Perhumas Muda Jakarta Raya; and Andovi da Lopez, content creator, host, and creator of Save Andovi and Polarisasi Musical. Their presence provided participants with valuable insights, inspiration, and industry experiences regarding the development of communication and the creative industry in Indonesia.
Kreasa Fest 2026 received full support from the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Indonesia and the Jakarta Provincial Department of Culture as part of their commitment to fostering young people’s creativity in communication and the creative industries. The Vice Minister of Culture of the Republic of Indonesia, H. Giring Ganesha Djumaryo, S.I.Kom., delivered a keynote speech via video message and expressed his appreciation for Kreasa Fest as a learning and creative platform for the younger generation.
“For a long time, we have spoken about culture as heritage, and that is true. However, culture is not only about preservation; it is also about creating the future. Therefore, when we talk about culture, we are also talking about creativity and innovation,” said him.
Giring also emphasized that today’s younger generation has tremendous opportunities to introduce Indonesian culture through digital technology. According to him, a single piece of creative content can reach millions of people and serve as a means to promote culture while simultaneously supporting the growth of the creative economy.
The Dean of the Faculty of Communication Sciences at Tarumanagara University, Dr. Sinta Paramita, S.I.P., M.A., stated that Kreasa Fest 2026 is not only a competition but also a learning platform where young people can develop creativity, collaboration, and professional communication skills.
“Amid the rapid flow of information and the transformation of media, culture is not enough to simply be preserved. It must also be communicated, revitalized, and given space to grow through creative and innovative approaches,” explained Sinta.
She expressed her hope that Kreasa Fest would become a space for the emergence of communication ideas and solutions that strengthen cultural awareness within society while encouraging students to become competent, adaptive, and impactful communication professionals.
The Chairperson of Kreasa Fest, Erin, also explained that the theme “Culture Inspires, Generations Take Action” was chosen to encourage young people to view culture as a source of inspiration that can be transformed into creative works and innovative solutions relevant to contemporary developments. Through competitions and discussion sessions, students were challenged to demonstrate that culture can evolve into tangible works that remain meaningful in a rapidly changing world.
