Jakarta, October 14, 2026 – The Faculty of Communication Sciences at Universitas Tarumanagara (Fikom Untar) held Pekan Praktisi 2026 under the title “Kolaborasi Berdampak” (Impactful Collaboration), with the theme “Integrasi Teori dan Praktik dalam Industri Komunikasi” (Integrating Theory and Practice in the Communication Industry). Held at the Auditorium on the 3rd Floor of the Main Building at Untar Campus 1, the event provided students with an opportunity to broaden their understanding of how communication theories are applied in the professional world.
The event began with opening remarks from the Dean of Fikom Untar, Sinta Paramita, S.IP., M.A., who emphasized that the event offered first-semester students an opportunity to understand the importance of integrating communication theories into their future careers.
“Understanding communication theories provides students with a foundation for examining how messages are designed, delivered, and made to have an impact on audiences,” she stated.
The event featured interactive presentations by three speakers with extensive experience in their respective fields: Adriansyah Latief, CEO of TAP Indonesia; Dr. Ir. Prabunindya Revta Revolusi, S.T., M.I.K., a lecturer in the Master’s Program in Communication Studies at Universitas Paramadina; and Mutiara Sang Dewi, S.I.Kom., Chief Financial Officer of PT KUMEDIA SUKSES ABADI.
Through the speakers’ diverse perspectives, students gained insights into how communication theories are applied in professional settings. The discussions covered various aspects of the communication industry, including developing message delivery strategies, selecting appropriate media based on audience characteristics, and establishing effective communication to support organizational goals. These discussions demonstrated that communication theories are not merely academic concepts but also serve as a foundation for decision-making and addressing various challenges in the industry.
During the discussion session, students also had the opportunity to ask the speakers questions directly about the challenges of working in the communication industry and the practical application of communication studies in professional settings.
Through Pekan Praktisi 2026, Fikom Untar hopes to encourage students to connect their academic knowledge with industry needs and better prepare themselves for the evolving landscape of the professional communication field. (AK)
